Neurotoxins
WHAT ARE NEUROTOXINS USED FOR?
​
Neurotoxins, including Botox and Dysport are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. They work by blocking the nerve synapse of the muscles, which prevents the muscle from contracting or moving. With a decrease in muscle movement, the lines created around the muscle soften and fade.
​
Neurotoxins are commonly injected between the eyebrows, on the forehead, and around the eyes. They can also be used to soften wrinkles around the mouth, turn up the corners of the mouth, enhance the lip line and soften neck bands.
​
CANDIDATES
​
Neurotoxins are generally safe and effective for most people with the exception of women who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding. As well as individuals with bleeding or neuromuscular disorders. Our physicians at Intentional Wellness Center can assess you and determine if you are an appropriate candidate for this treatment.

RECOVERY AND RESULTS
​
There is little to no downtime after neurotoxin injections. The procedure takes approximately fifteen minutes, there may be some slight redness after the procedure that can last for 15 to 30 minutes. It can take ten to fourteen days before maximal results are achieved, and these results typically last three to four months.

FILLERS
WHAT ARE FILLERS USED FOR?
​
Dermal fillers, often made from hyaluronic acid, are used to restore volume under the skin. They are very versatile and can be used to improve facial contours, soften facial lines and folds, restore fullness to the cheeks and add plumpness to lips.
​
CANDIDATES
​
Fillers are generally safe and effective for most people. Ideal candidates are non smokers and people in overall good general health. Filler injections cannot be done at a time of active infection. Many fillers contain lidocaine, so please discuss any known drug allergies with your physician.
​
RECOVERY AND RESULTS
​
There is minimal downtime after filler injections. The procedure takes approximately forty five minutes and you can immediately resume your regular activities, but there may be swelling or bruising for up to five days after injection. Fillers last anywhere from 6 months to two years.

LIPODISSOLVE
WHAT IS LIPODISSOLVE USED FOR?
​Lipodissolve, also known Kybella or deoxycholic acid, is an injectable medication that can dissolve fat reducing fullness in undesired regions such as under the chin, flanks and abdomen. Once the fat cells are dissolved, they can no longer store or accumulate fat.

CANDIDATES
​
Lipodissolve is generally safe and effective for most people with the exception of women who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding. As well as people with difficulty swallowing or bleeding problems. Lipodissolve cannot be injected at a site of active infection. Our physicians at Intentional Wellness Center can assess you and determine if you are an appropriate candidate for this treatment.

RECOVERY AND RESULTS
​
There is little to no downtime after Lipodissolve injections. The procedure takes approximately thirty minutes. There may be pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness after the injection. Anywhere from 1 to 6 sessions may be required in order to achieve desired cosmetic results. Once your aesthetic goals are achieved usually no further treatments are needed. ​
